ABC Soup (4 Pax)

This is the most common soup that many will cook. It's a tasty soup and easy to prepare especially when it's cooked using a thermal pot.
Saves electricity too :)

Ingredients:
  • 2 medium Carrots (diced)
  • 2 medium potato (diced)
  • 1 large or 2 medium onions (sliced)
  • 300g of chicken or pork (I've added meatballs for my kids)
  • 4 bowls of water

Steps:

  • Boiled water using the inner pot of the thermal cooker
  • Place all ingredients into the pot and boil it for 10 mins
  • Tranfer the pot into the thermal cooker.
  • The soup would be ready in 2 hours.

A typical Simple dinner for my kids

Mixed Vegetables

Ingredients:
  • 1 stalk of Broccoli
  • 1 medium sized Carrot
  • 1 packet of Brown Beech Mushroom (button mushroom taste good too)
  • 3 stalks of Celery

Seasoning:

  • Vegetarian Oyster Sauce

Steps:

  • Cut all ingredients
  • Heat oil and place all ingredients (broccoli stems 1st followed by carrot and celery. Mushroom last as it gets soft very fast) in wok.
  • Just stir fry the vege and add in seasoning.
  • Cover wok for 2 mins and dish is ready to serve :)

Fig (with Nanbei Xing) Soup

Ingredients:

  • 8 Fig or Wu Hua Guo (halves)
  • 2 tablespoon of Nan Xing
  • 3/4 tablespoon of Bei Xing
  • 300g Lean Meat (cubed)
  • 4 bowls of water

Steps:

  • Boil water (using the inner pot of the Thermal cooker)
  • Put ingredients into the boiling water
  • Boil for 10 mins and transfer the pot to the Thermal cooker
  • The soup would be ready in 2 hours

Note: Bei Xing is bitter in nature hence we don't add in as much as Nan Xing. This soup actually helps to strengthen the lungs. I would normally boil this once every 2 weeks for my kids :)
