Braised Pig's Ear, Stomach & Beancurd

I decided to try something new when I saw a packet of braised pigs' ears (my girl's favourite) in the ntuc. The packet of pigs' ears does not comes with any sauce so I would have to prepare myself. I also bought a packet of pig's stomach and braised tofu.

Preparation time: 15 mins

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet of braised pig's ear
  • 1 packet of braised pig's stomach
  • 1 packet of braised beancurd
Seasoning:

  • 1 bowl of water
  • 2 tablespoon of dark soy sauce
  • 1 table spoon of vegetarian abalone sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar

Steps:

  • Boil the boil.
  • Add all seasoning into the boiling water and bring to boil.
  • Add the all ingredients and let it simmer for 15 mins.
  • Done :)

I would probably try braising the beancurd and eggs the next time using the thermal pot. If it's successful, I'll post it up here as a record :)

Beef & Vegetable Rice (for 4 pax)

Chicken can used to replace beef......

  • Marinate minced beef with some light soy sauce, pepper and sesame oil (best is to marinate overnite)

  • That's it :)

Fishball Soup (for 4 pax)

This soup which is simple to cook if you don't have much ingredients in your fridge. See the face of my "happy customer" :)

  • 1 piece of Honey Date (蜜枣)
  • 3 bowls of water

  • Bring the water to boil
  • Put in all the ingredients (put tofu last)
  • Soup would be ready in 10 minutes :)

Salmon & Vegetable Rice (for 4 pax)

I saw this recipe in one of my recipe book (电锅百宝菜) and improvise it to make it a complete meal. My kids loved this as the rice becomes very sweet. The salt actually removes the "fishy" smell that my son hates.

(I had cooked the rice with some shredded carrots instead of celery)

Preparation time: Depends on your rice cooker

Ingredients:
  • 1 Salmon fillet
  • 2-3 stalks of Celery (chopped)
  • 2 cups of uncooked Rice

Steps:

  • Rub salmon with salt and leave it for 10 mins
  • Wash the salt away and place salmon in rice cooker with uncooked rice, celery and water to cook.
  • After the rice is cooked, just mix the salmon with the rice :)

Carrot Rice (for 4 pax)

I got this recipe from my colleague. The carrot makes the rice sweet and fluffy. My kids really love this. Nice colour too. (I forgot to take photo.....)

Ingredients:
  • Shredded carrots
  • Uncooked Rice

Steps:

  • Add shredded carrots into the rice cooker with the rice and cook. Note that water for the rice should be slightly lesser than your usually amount.
  • Done!

Baked drumlets

Ingredients:

  • Chicken drumlets

Seasoning:

  • Soy Sauce
  • Vegetarian Abalone sauce
  • Corn Flour
  • Pepper

Steps:

  • Marinate the drumplets with the seasonings. Amount of the seasoning depends on your taste buds and no. of drumlets :)
  • Marinate overnight for best results.
  • Oven bake it for 15 minutes. (In my case, I've used the pre-programmed function for cake baking in my microwave oven and baked for 15 minutes)

Pumpkin Rice (for 4 pax)

I liked this rice dish. I would usually added celery to the rice to make it a complete meal. A variety of taste within one dish!

(I've re-shot this dish - this time no celery as I have another vege dish cooked. Brown beech mushroom is used instead of shitake mushroom.)

Ingredients:

  • 1 quarter of Pumpkin (cubed)
  • 350g Chicken (diced)
  • Sliced Shitake Mushroom or Halved Button Mushroom (amount depends on your liking)
  • 2-3 stalks of Celery (choppped - Optional)
  • Half bowl of Dried Shrimp
  • 2 cups of uncooked Rice

Seasoning (optional)

  • Light Soya Sauce

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in rice cooker and cook
  • If you have a "stronger" tastebud, you may want to add some light soy sauce to the cooked rice.
